Dissemination of “Innovative Rehabilitation Education – Introduction of new master degree programs in Ukraine” (REHAB) project in Slovakia.

During three days, from September 19 to September 21, 2019, Associate Professors of the Department of Physical Therapy and Occupational therapy of our University, Ph.D. Olha Bas and Ph.D. Kateryna Tymruk-Skoropad participated in the International Conference – II International Symposium on Health Sciences and International Conference on Health Therapy and rehabilitation which was held at Pavel Jozef Safarik University (Kosice, Slovakia).
Participants from four countries – Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia and Germany – participated in the event. The participants were teachers, practitioners, physical therapists, specialists in the new field of Public health and Hygiene, graduate students, undergraduates and students of Pavel Jozeph Shafarik University. During the conference, two sections were heard, with speeches from 28 speakers. The main topics were physical therapy for various pathologies, prevention of diseases among the population, etc. The working languages of the conference were English and Slovak.
Our associate professors Olha Bas and Kateryna Tymruk-Skoropad also presented a report.
When announcing the report, the main provisions of the REHAB project (Erasmus programe) were presented, and it was stated that LSUPC named after I. Boberskyj is a participant. According to the results of the conference, a collection of abstracts in English was published.
Along with the establishment of international contacts during the conference it was possible to study and discuss in a circle of specialists the modern problems of modernization and transformation of the direction of physical therapy, Occupational therapy and Public health and Hygiene in the territory of Ukraine. The organization of such a conference in Ukraine in 2020 is in perspective.
