To facilitate the teaching of these disciplines, the etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical manifestations of lymphostasis/lymphedema are detailed in the manual, and methods of clinical and rehabilitation examination in the case of lymphostasis/lymphedema of the upper extremity are described.

The practically oriented manual will help to acquire basic knowledge in the field of physical therapy, as it systematizes theoretical and practical material for mastering the practical skills of conducting a rehabilitation examination, which is the basis for working with a patient.

The manual is distributed free of charge to higher educational institutions of Ukraine, where there is a specialty 227 Physical therapy and occupational therapy, to rehabilitation and medical institutions, where there are patients with lymphatic edema.

Today, as a result of the war in Ukraine, there are many patients with amputations, so the guide is relevant for working with this category of patients as well, since physical therapy specialists encounter postoperative edema, which must be diagnosed, monitored and corrected when preparing the patient for further prosthetics and recovery.
